While working on my books, I've met a lot of wonderful people. So many in the writing community have helped me out more than I could’ve ever imagined. They have been a godsend. I couldn’t have gotten this far without them. Because of that, I’d like you to know who they are just in case you ever want to use them.
More artists will be added as I get complete works from them.
Cover Artists
Shai is my first go-to designer, but she knows I also have others.
So, what can I say about Shai? Wow! She's awesome. Shai really does bring your visions to life. I started looking for a cover artist back in January. I wasn't having too good of a time with it. I wanted a custom, but I didn’t know what I wanted it to look like. Not knowing what I wanted made working with artists difficult. So, I moved on to premades. Shai has such wonderful premades on her site. I talked with her, and the next thing I know, she made a premade that was perfect for A Bond of Blood and Lavender. When she sent it to me, my jaw hit the floor, and I automatically knew that it was the perfect piece. I no longer needed to shop around. I was set. I’ve been working with her ever since and love it. She is so kind and helpful, and just talking about how awesome she is makes me want to cry. I'm dead serious when I say I met one of my long-term designers. She is also so cool. I love talking with her. She is always so positive, encouraging, and kind. She wants to always make sure I'm happy. She has designed and redesigned things over and over for me to make sure I'm more than 1000% satisfied. If something doesn’t work in her marketing material, I can shoot her a message, and she fixes it right away. She is always there for me and our projects. I'll continue to work with her. If you’re shopping around for an artist, check her out! She will always try to help you if she can.
Her work is featured to the left if you're on a desktop, and on above if you're on a phone.
Designer for upcoming middle grade book: Amore Mio. Company name is Amore Mio Graphics (Bringing Stories to Life, One Cover at a Time).
What can I say about Amore Mio Graphics? Perfection! I had a specific image in mind for my middle-grade book (my second novel), and when I shared it with Amore Mio Graphics, they were happy to help. Not only did they perfect my vision, but they enhanced it. They brought something in my mind to life in the best way possible. The first time I looked at my cover, I cried. I am just so beyond thankful that Amore Mio Graphic made my cover. I also enjoyed working with them. They were so kind and had such great input. If I had issues with upload or pixels, they helped. If I needed anything extra, they helped. They were very accommodating. Their designs are very extravagant as well. If you’re looking for a cover artist, make sure to check them out. They also have really cool premade Headers/Scene Breaks/Covers.
Graphics will go here once my book is announced.
Designer for a book under another pen name not mentioned: Cover and Berries. Company name is also Cover and Berries (Premade and custom book covers).
What can I say about Cover and Berries? Extraordinary! Cover and Berries is tremendous. Doing this particular project, both the book and cover, was a journey for me, as it is very personal. I wanted to make them both perfect, and I took a lot of time fixing the book and changing my mind on aspects of the cover. Those at Cover and Berries stood by my side. They never rushed me, they never hounded me, and they never made me feel any negative way. Once I finally had the vision I wanted for the book, not only did Cover and Berries perfect that vision, but they also went above and beyond. They did everything I wanted in my cover and more. If I asked for the world, they gave me the galaxy. If I needed a minor change, they didn’t hesitate. They were truly such a pleasure to work with. They were very responsive, accommodating, and understanding. I am so pleased with the cover for this project. If you’re looking for a cover artist, please check Cover and Berries out. They also have premades that are outstanding.
Character Art
For a while now, I’ve been following Isabelle Martinsen. Not only is she an author of ‘emotionally damaging books,’ but she is a phenomenal character artist. One of my writing friends/editors, Demi, gets her artwork done by Isabelle. Every time I’ve seen it, I’ve been jealous. I’ve loved it and wanted some of my own. Until 2026, I couldn’t afford to do character art. However, back in 2025, I reached out to Isabelle, asking for prices and talking about art. She was so kind, she understood me not being able to afford it at the time, and told me she’d be more than happy to help when I was ready. The second I was ready, I reached back out. Now we’re working on several projects together. I have only received sketches so far, and my jaw has dropped. She truly captured my vision. She has done everything I asked, and has been extraordinarily accommodating. I am so impressed. I can’t wait to share the artwork with you all. As she is working on three different projects, you’ll have to wait to see the reveal of some, as not all the books have been announced yet. But the wait will be worth it. If you’re looking for a character artist, please look her up. You won’t be disappointed. Seriously, I can’t express how talented she is. You’ve got to see it!
Melissa Monterio (nebraskadesign): Digital Artist | Bookish Illustrator | Graphic Designer
Ever since I saw my friend Mickey Black’s character art for her debut novel, When Mountains Crumble, I’ve been desperate to get my own art from the same artist: Melissa Monterio (nebraskadesign). She is a phenomenal and breathtaking artist. I get chills just looking at her art on Instagram. She’s so talented. She also has a wait list for months out. I discovered her in June 2025, but she wasn’t open for art then. By the time she opened, I was out of money. I was devastated. However, in February 2026, she opened back up, and I snagged my spot! Finally! She won’t start my art until August 2026, but I’m sure it’s going to be perfect and well worth the wait. I've already been talking to her a bunch, and she is extremely kind and very helpful. I’ll be posting her art once I announce the books and have the artwork. If you’re looking for an artist, check her out!
P.S. I was given permission to use the art for Melissa Monterio. This is her logo.
At the beginning of 2026, I still didn’t have money for character art. I really wanted character art at this point. I was desperate for it. I really figured it would help with sales. I am part of The Hive, a wonderful Facebook group for Indie Authors. Well, I mentioned wanting a list of character artists who were affordable on one of their posts. The next thing I know, they run a promotional campaign with their in-house artist Artorias. He was offering to do any piece for whatever price we can afford. I immediately jumped on this. I messaged him, told him my situation, and asked if he could help. He was more than willing. He was also extremely kind, accommodating, funny, and very caring. I have not received any final pieces yet of character art, though I’ve seen drafts, and my mind is blown. They look great!! This one piece I wanted to do was wild. I was asking for something weird (not character art, but art), and he perfected it! He’s done a wonderful job. I’m impressed. I can’t wait to see what the ending will look like. If you’re looking for character art, check him out.
